About Mike

7 times World Record holder and found of charity Speed Of Sight, Mike Newman first satisfied his need for speed in 2001 when he rode an Aprilla Falco 1000cc V twin motorbike and reached 89mph after only 3 days practice. This was only the beginning; the next step in Mike’s adventure was to conquer four wheels, which he did in 2003.

Mike’s tally of records is truly unmatched by any other blindfolded or blind driver having now amassed an impressive 8 world records - 6 land speed records, 1 water speed record and 1 aerobatic record.

He is now the only blind driver to set a world record for driving a car solo at over 200mph.
